Twelve hours, that’s the time Malaysian Airline needs to take us from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. If we had flown Singapore Airline we’d had a stopover in Singapore but on the way to Indonesia Kuala Lumpur is a great place to stop over. I might even be able to tap into the internet with my laptop as they have wifi point. 

The first time I visited Malaysia was back in 1985. That visit we traveled for three weeks with every available means of transportation. The most exiting must have been the stretch we hitchhiked with a guy who told us ha worked at an oil rig and as alcohol was strictly forbidden on board an oil rig he now used his time of to drink beer, drive on, for this country, the wrong site of the road, steering with one hand, drinking beer withg his other and shouting out the window to truck with cut down massive tropical trees on the trailers, driving 15 km an hour.

But today we won’t leave the airport as the next stretch will take us to Jakarta.
