Dirty hands, who cares?

September 25th, 2009 · No Comments

I do. If you do something that is generally not accepted, improper or outside the boundaries of the law then your days are counted. The internet is being crawled for each and every subject, person and issue and the moment an inconvenient truth surfaces, and they do surface, there is no hiding and puiblic inquisition is organized in a minute. Today dutch politician Hero Brinkman confessed that he is ashamed that he has a drinking problem. Good for him, he made his hand dirty and he came out. Now what happens next? No greasy public inquisition because here is a guy who has a problem, he confessed and they cannot hirt him anymore, public shame is his.

Then the bankers. They are a breed on their own. What makes a person decide to become a banker? I have never met kids that said in primardirty-handsy school, when I grow big I want to become a banker. From all the people in the world that are solely interested in money I think bankers must be the ultimate top of the money greedy people pyramid. The financial crisis, as it is taking place, is a result of  a system created to make more money out of debts. How can a debt, where by default there is a shortage of money, become a building block for new products. It’s like using a bamboo hut as a basis for building  a skyscraper. It’s like selling cans with air to breath. The people who invented these financial misconstructs were sensitive for greed and greedy people. They did not question the durability of what they were constructing,  they never questioned who’s money it was they were putting at risk and they definitely did not matter. The only worry they had, when trust evaporated and the financial tsunami struck the world, was:” when do I get my bonus?”. Just imagine, the people responsible for taking decisions that influence even the retirement plans from millions of people are only concerned about their own financial welfare. The banks they work for are kept alive with government money paid for by the tax that we have paid for. So our money is the guaranty that these institutions don’t gop bankrupt and these bankers lose their jobs and we don’t loose confidence in the banking system and what do they give in return for saving their jobs with taxpayer money, they rob us again by taking huge bonuses.

Do they get away with this or will there be a movement that brings them to public halls of shame on the internet like they do these days with child molesters and pedofiles. Send me the link if there is a place like that because whenever I will have some money left for saving I would definitely like to know who knot to trust as a banker.
